In the spring of 2008 WVU College of Law offered for the first time entrepreneurship law and cyberlaw classes. As a part of a pilot program generously funded by the Benedum Foundation, The Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Law Program developed the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic to add to the offerings of the existing Clinical Law Program at the WVU College of Law to offer start-up companies, small businesses, non-profits, and individuals legal services in areas of counseling for a product plan or business organization; licensing; employee and contractor agreements; intellectual property; financing and venture capital; planning and negotiation; dispute resolution; and generalized assistance in business formation, planning, and strategy.

ELC Student-Attorneys:
Aimee Lim, 3L, Charleston, WV:
Working as a student-attorney with the Entrepreneurship Law Clinic has been very educational, inspiring, and fun. Our wide variety of clients has provided great opportunities to apply the legal skills we have learned in Patent Law, Business Organizations, Cyber Law, Securities Regulation, etc. It has been rewarding to help such excited, creative people start their own non-profit organizations or improve businesses they already own. My experience with the ELC has been unlike any I have had with my other law school classes and I will value this experience long after I graduate.
